The new Michelin guide for the UK and Ireland was published last night – with 170 one star, 27 two star and nine three-star restaurants crowned.
For many people, these restaurants are well out of budget – as the bill could stretch into many hundreds of pounds, even if there’s only two of you.
But there are a few Michelin restaurants that offer cheaper – if not cheap – lunch or early evening menus
The Sky News Money blog team looked at every Michelin restaurant in the new UK list and found 16 that offer deals at different points of the day.
The cheapest, by a distance, is the £15 set lunch deal at The Coach, owned by Tom Kerridge, in Buckinghamshire.
In our list below, we’ve included anywhere offering special deals for two courses for £40 or less.
It should be noted that some websites are pretty tricky to navigate, and one or two proudly boast of not displaying their menus online – so a couple may have slipped through the Money team’s net.
