Centrist Sen. Joe Manchin commended Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Sunday morning for the deal that kept the federal government open.
“I praise Kevin McCarthy for what he did yesterday,” Manchin (D-W.Va.) said on “Fox News Sunday.” “He finally realized you can’t reason with unreasonable people, with the extremes.”
He added of the hardline Republicans who opposed McCarthy: “I hope their constituents finally say, ‘Enough is enough, we want people that at least keep our government running and moving in the right direction.’”
