A man has been charged with murder after a woman was killed in front of her two children in Manchester, police have said.
Obert Moyo, 45, has been charged with murdering Perseverance Ncube, who was found with serious injuries in Salford at about 2.40am on Friday.
Known as Percy to her friends, she was found with a single stab wound to the chest and died at hospital.
Moyo, of Pennington Road, Bolton, has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
He has been remanded into custody and is set to appear at Bolton Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Paying tribute, Ms Ncube’s family described her as a “loving and devoted mother who lived for her children, family and friends”.
“Percy had just celebrated her 35th birthday in October, and her passing has left us with an immeasurable sense of loss,” they said.
“Our focus now is on supporting her children as they continue their journey without their mother.”
