White Stripes’ singer Jack White shocked fans on Friday night when he proposed to and married his girlfriend on stage during a show.
White invited Olivia Jean, a songwriter and producer, on stage to play with him, introducing her to fans as his girlfriend.
The 46-year-old then popped the question to Jean during his track Hotel Yorba, just before he sang the lyric “let’s get married”.

Fellow Detroit native Jean, 32, reportedly burst into tears, according to local press, and said yes.
White then carried her off the stage – only to emerge later for an encore and live marriage, officiated by Ben Swank, the founder of White’s record label.
The pair’s bass players acted as the best man and maid of honour, while members of their families watched on.
White’s show was part of his latest solo tour, named Supply Chain Issues, after the White Stripes broke up in 2011 and was somewhat of a homecoming gig in the city – his first there since 2018.
