A seven-year-old boy has died after being struck by a car.
The incident took place in Plymstock, a suburb of Plymouth, Devon, on Sunday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene in Wembury Road, near Plymstock Albion Oaks Rugby Club, at around 11.10am.
The boy, who sustained serious injuries, was taken to hospital but later died, Devon and Cornwall Police said.
His next of kin have been informed.
A 55-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and remains in police custody.
