Storm Eunice is sweeping across the country, with a number of weather warnings in place for the UK – including rare red warnings for wind.
The Met Office has said it fears “significant gusts” could cause a danger to life, with Britons urged to stay at home today.

A red weather warning for wind is in place for Cardiff and Swansea with an amber warning covering the rest of the country.
The red warning indicates significant disruption and dangerous conditions due to extremely strong winds. Widespread inland gusts of 70mph to 80mph are likely and could rise as high as 90mph in some coastal communtiies.
The amber warning indicates there is a “good chance” flying debris could result in a danger to life, with damage to buildings and homes likely.

North East
A yellow weather warning is in force and covers parts of the region including Durham, Hartlepool, Sunderland and Darlington.
This came into force at 7am and is due to last until 6pm tonight.
North West
An amber warning covers the region – including Liverpool, Manchester, Bolton, Blackpool and Preston.
This came into force at 5am today and is due to last until 9pm tonight.
Yorkshire and the Humber
An amber warning is covering parts of the region, including Doncaster, Grimsby and Scunthorpe. This came into force at 5am today and is set to last until 9pm tonight.
A yellow warning covers the rest of the region. This is in place from 7am today until 6pm tonight.
East Midlands
An amber weather warning covers the region, including Nottingham, Northampton, Lincoln and Manfield. It came into force at 5am on Friday and is due to last until 9pm tonight.
West Midlands
An amber weather warning covers the region – including Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Worcester and Dudley. It came into force at 5am on Friday and is due to last until 9pm tonight.
East of England
A red weather warning covers parts of eastern England, including Sudbury, Braintree, Southend-on-Sea and Welwyn Garden City.
An amber warning, which lasts until 9pm tonight, covers the rest of the region – including Norwich and Cambridge.
London
A red wind warning is in place for London, which indicates dangerous conditions and flying debris could result in a danger to life.
The warning is in place from 10am and remains until 3pm this afternoon.

South East
A red warning is in place and covers areas including Brighton, Reading, Basingstoke, Margate, Hastings and Crawley.
This is in place from 10am and is due to last until 3pm.
South West
A red warning is in force for this region, covering areas including Bournemouth, Camborne and Barnstaple. This is in place from 10am today and is due to last until 3pm.
An amber warning covers the rest of the region.

Weather warnings for wind and snow cover most of the country.
A yellow warning for snow in the north of the country means there is a chance of travel delays on roads, which may also result in stranded vehicles and passengers – along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.
There is a chance the snow could see some more rural communities could be temporarily cut off, with power cuts and a potential impact on mobile phone coverage.
A yellow warning for wind covers some parts of the very south of the country.
Yellow warnings for both snow and wind are in place for Northern Ireland today.
The warning for snow is in place across the whole country.
Meanwhile, a wind warning covers the east of the country, including Belfast. This indicates there is a chance of damage to trees and buildings, and longer journey times.
There is also a chance some roads and bridges could close, and the risk of power cuts.
