Marvel show Wandavision, Netflix smash Emily In Paris and superhero comedy The Boys all lead this year’s MTV Movie & TV Awards nominations.
WandaVision, which launched on Disney+ in January has had five nods at the awards, including for best show, best hero for Teyonah Parris and (sorry – spoiler!) best villain for Kathryn Hahn.
Amazon’s The Boys and Netflix‘s Emily In Paris are both up for four gongs apiece, including best show.
Raunchy period drama Bridgerton is also up for three awards – best show, best kiss, and breakthrough performance for the now-departed Rege-Jean Page.
Cobra Kai makes up the remainder of the best show category.
In the best film category, Oscar-nominated movies Promising Young Woman and Judas And The Black Messiah will battle it out against Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, Pixar’s Soul and Netflix’s To All The Boys: Always And Forever.
The MTV Movie & TV Awards are among the handful of award shows that feature gender neutral categories, with awards such as best performance and best hero on the virtual-ballot paper.
Chawick Boseman has received a posthumous nomination for his part in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and will go up against Sacha Baron Cohen (Trial Of The Chicago 7), Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman), Daniel Kaluuya (Judas And The Black Messiah) and Zendaya (Malcolm & Marie) in the best performance in a film category.
In the TV performance category, nominees include Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit), Elizabeth Olsen (WandaVision), Elliot Page (The Umbrella Academy), Emma Corrin (The Crown) and Michaela Coel (I May Destroy You).
Drag Race UK, Geordie Shore and Love Island are all nominated in the international reality series category.
The ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on 16 May, with fans able to vote in all the categories online.
