Tributes paid to ‘much loved’ police officer and son, 3, found dead in Kidderminster

The family of a police officer have paid tribute to their “amazing father” and “well-loved little boy” following their deaths on Friday.

David Louden, 39, and his three-year-old son Harrison were found dead at an address in Cairndhu Drive, Kidderminster, on Friday morning.

Mr Louden was a serving with West Mercia Police.

In a statement, issued through the force, Mr Louden’s wife paid tribute to her husband and son, alongside their wider family.

The family expressed their “deep shock, grief and devastation at the loss of two much-loved family members”.

“David was a kind, loving, considerate, amazing father, husband, son, brother, uncle, friend and colleague,” they said.

“Harrison was a happy, well-loved little boy. They will both be forever missed and loved.”

An investigation has been launched into the deaths – which are currently being treated as unexplained.

The West Midlands ambulance service were called to reports of a medical emergency at the property at 9.21am.

Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene.

“On arrival, we discovered two patients, a man and a young child,” the service said.

“Sadly, it quickly became apparent that neither patient could be saved and they were confirmed dead at the scene.”

Neighbours spoke of their “shock” at the deaths, with one, who asked not to be named, saying the residents “kept to themselves”.

“They’ve lived there less than a year,” they added. “It’s a family. The news is just awful.”
