England football manager Gareth Southgate has revealed his final 26-man squad for this month’s European Championships.
Southgate announced a 33-strong provisional squad last Tuesday but has now finalised his selection – trimming six players after Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood withdrew through injury this morning.
Jesse Lingard (West Ham), James Ward-Prowse (Southampton) and Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) will miss out alongside the uncapped trio of Aaron Ramsdale (Sheffield United), Ben Godfrey (Everton) and Ben White (Brighton).
England are in group D with Scotland, Croatia and the Czech Republic and will play all their matches at Wembley.

The squad is:
Goalkeepers:
Dean Henderson (Manchester United), Sam Johnstone (West Brom), Jordan Pickford (Everton)
Defenders:
Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Ben Chilwell (Chelsea), Conor Coady (Wolves), Reece James (Chelsea), Harry Maguire (Manchester United), Tyrone Mings (Aston Villa), Luke Shaw (Manchester United), John Stones (Manchester City), Kieran Trippier (Atletico Madrid), Kyle Walker (Manchester City)
Midfielders:
Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Mason Mount (Chelsea), Kalvin Phillips (Leeds), Declan Rice (West Ham)
Forwards:
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton), Phil Foden (Man City), Jack Grealish (Aston Villa), Harry Kane (Tottenham), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund), Raheem Sterling (Man City)
Liverpool star Alexander-Arnold has been included despite missing the last seven international games. He will compete for a place against Kieran Trippier, Reece James and Kyle Walker as one of four right-backs in the squad.
Southgate also has fitness concerns over two key players he has selected.
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has not played since undergoing groin surgery in February and Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire sustained an ankle ligament injury last month.
The England manager has reflected on how difficult his decision-making process was in an interview on England’s YouTube channel.
He said: “I think every squad is difficult because we have a lot of talented players in this country.
“The most difficult thing is to not be able to take players who’ve been with us in previous matches and who are such good professionals.
“So, I know what a disappointment that is for them at the moment not to be going to a major championship.”
England will play their first game of the tournament against Croatia on Sunday 13 June.
The FA has said the dropped players will remain in the squad for two pre-tournament friendlies in Middlesbrough against Austria on Wednesday and Romania on Sunday.
Asked about Ward-Prowse, Lingard and Watkins, Southgate said he had offered them the chance to leave the group once he broke the bad news – but praised the trio for deciding to stay.
He continued: “For me personally, it was very difficult to speak to Jesse, who has given so much to England, has performed so well for England over a long period of time, James Ward-Prowse who has been captain of the under-21s and then Ollie Watkins, who had a tremendous season with Aston Villa.
“Those three, I gave them the option of going home if they wanted to but they were all adamant they would want to stay and be a part of the group.”
The FA collaborated with grime star Wretch 32 for a film which formally unveiled the squad.
The video and an accompanying song, which reflects on the pandemic and the ability of football to bring people together, was tweeted out from England’s official Twitter account.

Scotland manager Steve Clarke announced his squad for the finals on 19 May, which included uncapped players Billy Gilmour, David Turnbull and Nathan Patterson.
Scotland will play two of their group games on home soil at Hampden Park – against Croatia and Czech Republic – and travel to Wembley for the match against England.
The Wales squad was revealed yesterday by manager Robert Page, who is charge in the absence of Ryan Giggs.
Gareth Bale will captain the side, which begins its campaign against Switzerland in Baku on June 12 before playing Turkey in the Azerbaijani capital four days later.
They complete their group A fixtures against Italy in Rome on June 20.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, UEFA has changed its rules to allow nations to amend their squad at any stage up to their first game in the tournament.
For England, that’s 13 June against Croatia – giving Southgate a further 12 days to make any changes.
