Snoop Dogg has given a pay rise to his full-time blunt roller as soaring inflation bites.
The US rapper – who is known to smoke weed every day – took on an employee to produce perfectly rolled joints after saying he didn’t have the time to do it himself.
Snoop Dogg, 50, responded to a tweet by account UberFacts which suggested that his blunt roller earns a salary of between $40,000 and $50,000 (£32,000 – £40,000).
He shared the tweet with his 20.2m fans on Tuesday, writing: “Inflation. Their salary went up!”
Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Broadus Jr, revealed he had taken on a blunt roller while appearing on the Howard Stern Show in 2019.
He compared the green-fingered worker to film character Lurch from the Addams Family, describing his timing as “impeccable”.
When Stern asked “Is this a guy that is specifically hired by you?” the rapper replied: “That’s his J-O-B – his occupation. On his resume, it says, ‘what do you do? I’m a blunt roller. P-B-R, professional blunt roller,” adding that the perks of the job include free weed and clothes.
“If you’re great at something I need, I’m hiring you.”
Snoop appeared on the show alongside actor Seth Rogen who said of the blunt roller’s skills: “He knows how to gauge the look on someone’s face when it seems like they want a blunt and if they do, he gives you one.”
