A seven-year-old boy who went missing on Sunday night has been found “safe and well”, police have said.
Carson Shephard was reported missing from New Cumnock in East Ayrshire at about 7.20pm on Sunday.
East Ayrshire police division posted on Twitter: “We are pleased to report that seven-year-old Carson Shephard, reported missing from New Cumnock, has been found safe and well.
“Officers would like to thank everyone who assisted in this inquiry.”
Officers used a police helicopter, marine and dog units, as well as the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service water support unit during their search.
East Ayrshire Police previously put out a tweet urging people to “check garden sheds, gardens, garages and not assume someone else” has already searched places.
People in the local community helped officers look for Carson in the area, which is some 40 miles (64km) south of Glasgow.
