Seven Cambodian labourers have died after drinking alcohol they were given as a disinfectant in a coronavirus quarantine camp.
They had returned to the country from Thailand and were placed in a camp in northwestern Banteay Meanchey province.
Cambodia’s health ministry said the alcohol was mixed with water and soft drinks.
Twelve others were taken to hospital complaining of breathing trouble, headaches and dizziness after drinking the mixture on Tuesday and Wednesday,
Samples have been taken to a laboratory in Cambodian capital Phnom Penh for analysis.
