A residential architecture specialist set up by two of Britain’s best-known female founders has recruited the boardroom veteran Tim Weller as its new chairman.
Sky News understands that Mr Weller has been appointed as Resi’s chairman with the objective of enabling the company to pursue a stock market listing in 2023 or later.
Mr Weller, who has led a string of private and public companies, is in the middle of another initial public offering as the chairman of Trustpilot, the online ratings platform.
Resi was set up in 2017 by Alex Depledge and Jules Coleman, who previously launched – and then sold – Hassle.com, a cleaning services company.
Their latest venture aims to be a one-stop shop for homeowners who are looking to build or extend their properties.
Last year, it provided roughly 20,000 free consultations, and recorded a one-third increase in the number of projects completed for clients.
Previously called BuildPath, it employs more than 100 people.
Resi’s shareholders include JamJar Investments and Omers Ventures, an arm of the giant Canadian pension fund.
Ms Depledge said: “We spend more time at home than anywhere else, yet our approach to designing and building homes has changed little in the past decades.
“I am excited to start working with Tim, digitising the home transformation process so we can bring our vision of transforming spaces into safe, healthy, happy homes to life for everyone.”
