The Queen has hosted two virtual engagements as she continues back at work after testing positive for COVID-19 less than two weeks ago.

Earlier on Thursday she received Vishnu Dhanpaul via video link, the new high commissioner of Trinidad and Tobago, and Dr Thomas Bisika, the new high commissioner for Malawi.

The Queen, 95, tested positive for coronavirus on 20 February, just days after Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall both contracted the virus.

Understood to be triple vaccinated, she is thought to have experienced mild cold-like symptoms during her bout with the virus.

On Tuesday, the Prince of Wales said the Queen was “a lot better now” after she was forced to miss several virtual events last week.

The Queen’s latest engagements come almost a month after she celebrated her the start of her Platinum Jubilee year, with festivities planned for later in 2022.

Later this month, she has a string of high-profile events coming up which she is due to attend.

Among them are the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey on 14 March, and then the Duke of Edinburgh’s memorial service, also at the abbey, on 29 March.
