Police have launched a manhunt for a Toyota Prius driver who allegedly raped a woman in the early hours of the morning in London.

The woman got into a white Toyota Prius at around 2.15am last Thursday in the area of Upper Street, Islington.

She told police he drove her to the area of Wormwood Scrubs in west London where he raped her in the car.

Metropolitan Police said the woman was being supported by specialist officers.

Police urgently want to speak to Salad Ahmed Mohamed, 36, in connection with the attack.

He is described as black, of slim build and 5ft 10 in height, and is known to frequent the Islington, Finsbury Park, and South Tottenham areas.

Detectives also want to trace the white Toyota Prius that Mr Mohamed was using.

Police said that anyone who sees Mr Mohamed should not approach him, but call 999 immediately.
