Police borrowed a pair of kayaks after a drink-driver got stuck in floodwater in West Sussex.
Officers waded knee deep to perform a breath test on James Doyle after he misjudged the road in Bognor Regis on 15 November last year.
The 57-year-old was arrested for being three times over the limit.
Locals then gave police kayaks so they could return to check the car, with a body-worn camera showing them paddling back to the hatchback on North Bersted Street.
One of the PCs is seen standing on the kayak and using it as a platform to get inside the car.
Sussex Police said it was “all in a day’s work” for the officers involved.
