The parents of a teenager hit and killed in a crash during the school run have paid tribute to their “beautiful boy”.
Freddie Coleman, 15, died after he was struck by a vehicle in Stock Road in Stock – near Chelmsford in Essex – on Friday at around 8.20am.
A second teenage boy was airlifted to hospital for treatment for serious injuries.
Both were students at Mayflower High School in Billericay, which is around one-and-a-half miles from the crash scene.
Freddie’s parents Jason and Jo said: “Our beautiful boy Freddie, a much-loved son, grandson, brother, nephew and uncle sadly died on November 3 at 8.30am.
“He was loved by everybody who knew him, our kind, happy, funny boy. Please respect our privacy during this dreadful time.”
A 23-year-old man was arrested after the crash on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.

Essex Police is appealing for people who witnessed the incident to come forward with information.
