One person has died and another has been injured after being attacked in Paris on Saturday evening.
The suspect was targeting passersby around the Quai de Grenelle, which is located about 15 minutes from the Eiffel Tower in the French capital.
They were arrested by police, French interior minister Gerald Darnanin posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“The police have just courageously arrested an assailant attacking passersby in Paris, around the Quai de Grenelle,” he said.
“One deceased person and one injured person treated by the Paris fire brigade,” he added, urging people to avoid the area.
The anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office said it has not yet been put in charge of an investigation.
