The family of a 70-year-old woman, who has been missing since last summer, has issued a plea for anyone with information to come forward.
Norma Girolami, from Highgate, north London, was last seen on 19 August 2021 – the same day she took a trip to Leigh-on-Sea in Essex.
She travelled by train to the seaside town from Barking, returning to London later that same day – she has not been heard from since.
In October, Metropolitan Police announced a murder investigation had been launched and it has now put up a £20,000 reward for any information leading to Norma’s location.
‘Christmas was a hard time’
On Thursday, her cousin Pia Graham issued an emotional plea for people to come forward, saying: “No piece of information is too small.”
“We miss you so much Norma. Christmas was such a hard time for us because we know it was a time you loved, seeing us and being around family.”

“Going to St Joseph’s for Christmas Mass. Helping those less fortunate than you,” Ms Graham said.
“I would ask everyone to look closely at these pictures and think about whether you recognise Norma. Did you see her last summer?
“If you think you might have information – even if you aren’t completely sure it was her or don’t remember exact dates – please contact the police. No piece of information is too small.”
Detective Chief Inspector Jo Sidaway, who is leading the investigation, said the force is “working tirelessly” to get Norma’s family “the answers they so desperately need”.
The grey Kia Niro
As part of their investigation, officers have also released a photo of a car they believe could be linked to her disappearance.
People are being asked to get in touch if they saw the grey Kia Niro between Thursday 19 August and Friday 1 October 2021 in the Highgate and Finchley areas of north London.
DCI Sidaway added: “The car could have also been using a vehicle warning sign in one of the doors which may have made it stand out more than others. Perhaps you saw it parked on your road or behaving suspiciously in the area.
“We are urging anyone who knew Norma or regularly saw her to come forward and speak to us, whether it be a neighbour or someone who works at a shop that she visited frequently.
“Any information about her daily routine could prove vital to our investigation.”
Police added that Ms Girolami regularly used public transport to visit Brent Cross for her shopping and was also a member at Archway Leisure Centre.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
