Nick Grimshaw has been left “upset” after a criminal gang raided an Ibizan holiday villa he was staying in with friends and family.
The radio DJ had rented the luxury villa to celebrate his 40th birthday and shared an image of him sunbathing on Instagram last week, which he has since deleted.
The gang of thieves targeted the villa in the night, while Grimshaw and the other guests slept.
Those with Grimshaw in the villa included his 81-year-old mother Eileen and his fiancé, dancer and model Meshach Henry.
A source told The Sun, who first reported the story, that “there have been a spate of attacks in luxury villas across Ibiza this summer”.
They said: “Sadly, Nick’s villa was on the target list – simply due to it being known for being used by high-net-worth clients.
“The gang would have had no idea who he was. Sadly, it’s a case of the wrong place at the wrong time but it’s scary to say the least.
“Nick was obviously upset but thought best to keep things off social media.”

They added: “When the raid happened, Grimmy, his mum and his friends were in the villa.
“Luckily they were asleep, but it was unsettling to wake up to, to say the least.”
The raid is believed to have taken place on the Spanish island some weeks ago.
Nobody was hurt and Grimshaw is understood to be safely back at his home in north London.
