Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger has teamed up with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl for a surprise lockdown-themed track.
The thumping rock-song written by Jagger is called Easy Sleazy, and features the performer on vocals and lead guitar, backed by Grohl on drums, bass and backing guitar.
A video released alongside the song shows both stars performing the track remotely in what looks to be separate studios.
I wanted to share this song that I wrote about coming out of lockdown, with some much needed optimism – thank you to Dave Grohl @foofighters for jumping on drums, bass and guitar, it was a lot of fun working with you on this-hope you all enjoy Eazy Sleazy! https://t.co/7FoI5T36aU
The track is about the coronavirus-enforced lockdown, with the lyrics referring to Zoom calls, “football’s fake applause” and “stupid” TikTok dances.
The song goes on to cover the amount of food and drink consumed over lockdown, as well as the “lobotomising” nature of television.
Grohl shared the track on the Foo Fighters’ Instagram page, writing: “It’s hard to put into words what recording this song with Sir Mick Jagger means to me. It’s beyond a dream come true.
“Just when I thought life couldn’t get any crazier……and it’s the song of the summer, without a doubt!!”
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine (incidentally nothing to do with the band of the same name), Jagger said: “It’s a reflection on the last year – the physical and mental strains put on society.
“The whole year, we’ve been doing this and going through different emotions through it and having false starts and stops and openings and closings.

“[Also] the deep psychological ramifications of it on people and children not going to school and not socialising. We don’t know what they’re really going to be.”
In the track he also hits out at anti-vaxxers, telling the magazine that “they don’t get it”.
“They got what they believe in and they believe in that,” he says, adding: “And it doesn’t matter what you say, they’re gonna believe in it. And rational thought doesn’t work.”
Grohl, meanwhile, has had a relatively busy lockdown, with the multi-instrumentalist releasing a new album with the Foo Fighters, as well as writing his new book, The Storyteller, full of anecdotes from his career.
