Kylian Mbappe has joined Real Madrid on a five-year deal, the club have announced.

The captain of the French national team, 25, announced he was leaving Paris Saint-Germain in a video posted on X on 10 May.

“Real Madrid C. F. and Kylian Mbappe have reached an agreement whereby he will be a Real Madrid player for the next five seasons,” the club confirmed on Monday evening.

The move had been expected and it’s thought the confirmation was deliberately held until after Saturday’s Champions League final, which Real won 2-0.

Mbappe told French President Emmanuel Macron earlier on Monday that the transfer was hours away from being made public.
