A man has been charged with the murder of 22-year-old Jamel Boyce, who died six years after being attacked in southwest London.
Tyrese Osei-Kofi, aged 24 and of no fixed address, is due to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on 27 December.
Mr Boyce, then 17, was stabbed in a fight outside a Sainsbury’s supermarket in Clapham on 14 October 2016.
The victim suffered severe brain damage due to oxygen deprivation after being wounded in the attack.
He was left blind, paralysed and unable to speak.
On 13 February last year, Mr Boyce died aged 22 at a care home in Streatham Hill, south London, as a result of his injuries.
A post-mortem examination found his cause of death was a penetrating injury to his chest.

Following his death, police launched a murder investigation.
A man has previously been jailed for inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent over the stabbing.
