Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin and Disney Channel actress Brenda Song have welcomed the birth of their first child, Dakota.
The couple confirmed the happy news with a simple statement saying: “We are overjoyed.”
Their new son, who was born on 5 April, has been named in memory of Culkin’s sister, Dakota, who died in 2008 aged 29.
According to Culkin’s representative, the baby weighed 6lb 14oz when he was born, and the trio are said to be “healthy and happy”.
Culkin, 40, and Song, 33, met on the set of the film Changeland in Thailand in 2017, and revealed last year that they had been planning to start a family together.
In an interview with Esquire, Culkin revealed that the pair would “practice a lot” when it came to family planning, adding they had been “figuring it out, making the timing work”.
Song, in the same interview, said: “Truly what makes Mack so special is that he is so unapologetically Mack.
“He knows who he is, and he’s 100% okay with that.”
Song is perhaps best known for her role as London Tipton, the heir to a hotel chain, on the Disney Channel show The Suite Life of Zack & Cody – but she has since had a string of roles, including in comedy Dollface.
