A major motorway in Kent briefly closed with two-mile queues of traffic, as witnesses reported seeing a man walking down the M20.
Emergency services were called to carriageway near Maidstone and motorists were advised to seek alternative routes where possible while the disruption was ongoing.
One driver told Sky News they saw “large man was walking down the middle of the fast lane in a white vest covered in blood”.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said they were called “following concern for a man” seen between junctions 7 and 8 around 11.45am.
That section of the motorway was briefly closed.
National Highways reported delays on approach of at least 45 minutes.
