Five members of the same family and an Israeli DJ shot dead in an apparent case of mistaken identity are among the reported victims killed since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Details of their deaths came as Boris Johnson warned that Vladimir Putin is using “barbaric and indiscriminate tactics against innocent civilians”, with the Russian president prepared to “bomb tower blocks” and “kill children”.

At least 352 civilians, including 14 children, have died so far, Ukraine’s health ministry has said – with hundreds more wounded.

Ukrainian police officer Oleg Fedko reportedly lost five members of his family as Russian troops pushed towards the city of Kherson from Crimea.

They were trying to escape in two cars when they were attacked near Nova Kakhovka on the outskirts of Kherson, according to Ukrainian news outlet Zaxid.

Mr Fedko’s wife Irina, six-year-old daughter Sofia and baby son Ivan, along with his father Oleg and mother Anna, were all killed, it said.

Four members of the family in the second car escaped.

The officer’s brother Denis Fedko, who confirmed the deaths to Zaxid, said he was talking on the phone to his mother when she started shouting that there were children in the car, and he heard shots ring out.

Oleg Fedko’s parents and wife died at the scene, while his children were rushed to hospital but died there, Zaxid reported.

Israeli DJ killed ‘mistakenly by Ukrainian troops’

An Israeli DJ has died in Ukraine after he was reportedly mistakenly killed by Ukrainian troops.

Roman Brodsky was shot dead after a convoy he was travelling in outside Kyiv came under fire, the Times of Israel reported.

Mr Brodsky was a father of two who had been living in Ukraine with his family, the newspaper said.

His father said his son was trying to drive to Moldova in an attempt to return to Israel, when he was stopped at a checkpoint by Ukrainian forces, who opened fire.

He told the Kan broadcaster: “They thought he was Chechen or something and killed him.”

However, Mr Brodsky’s family reportedly told Israel’s Channel 12 news site that they blame the “dictator” Vladimir Putin for his death.

Girl, six, in unicorn pyjamas killed in Russian airstrike

Heartbreaking images from Ukraine have shown a little girl in unicorn pyjamas lying fatally wounded after a Russian airstrike.

Photographs released by the Associated Press show the youngster being rushed to hospital in an ambulance in Mariupol after being injured during shelling.

A woman believed to be the girl’s mother was pictured covered in blood and holding a pink scarf while weeping as she waited outside the ambulance, with the medical team desperately trying to revive the child.

However, the girl, who was reportedly aged six, could not be saved.

Indian student killed in Ukraine shelling

An Indian student has been killed in shelling in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, India’s foreign ministry has said.

India’s foreign secretary called in the ambassadors of Russia and Ukraine to reiterate its demand for “urgent safe passage for Indian nationals” who are still in Kharkiv and cities in other conflict zones, a ministry spokesman said.

Thousands of Indian students attend universities in Ukraine, and many have been trapped since the invasion began.

Primary schoolgirl and 10 Greek nationals among other victims

Details of the latest deaths come after the first named fatality was a primary schoolgirl called Polina, who was believed to be around nine or 10 years old.

She and her parents were shot dead by a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group which opened fire on their family car, Kyiv’s deputy mayor Volodymyr Bondarenko said.

Polina’s brother is receiving treatment at Okhmatdyt children’s hospital, and her sister is in intensive care at a second hospital.

Elsewhere, seven-year-old Alisa Hlans was killed in an attack that hit a kindergarten in the city of Okhtyrka – about an hour’s drive from the northeastern Ukrainian border.

She was among five others killed when Russia launched an attack on the second day of the invasion last Friday.

An unnamed boy was also killed on the second day of the invasion in the small town of Chuhuiv in eastern Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, after shelling struck an apartment building.

Ten Greek nationals died, and six others were injured, by Russian bombing near the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, Greece’s government said.

Thousands of Greek expatriates live in Mariupol – with the Athens government claiming around 150,000 people of Greek origin live in Ukraine.
