Earlier today Boris Johnson resigned as Conservative Party leader.
The prime minister’s official photographer has taken some photographs revealing how the day unfolded behind the scenes.
Mr Johnson resigned around midday saying “when the herd moves it moves”.
He returned into Number 10 after delivering his speech outside.
On his return, Mr Johnson was greeted by some of his most loyal allies including Nadine Dorries and Jacob Rees-Mogg.
Also there to greet him was his wife Carrie Johnson and their children Wilf and Romy.
Mr Johnson embraced his family after giving his resignation speech.

He then held a meeting of his cabinet this afternoon after carrying out a mini reshuffle.
Those around the table with him included newly appointed Education Secretary James Cleverly and new Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster Kit Malthouse.
