The Body Shop has published the full list of stores that are to close – and which will stay open – as it announced 489 jobs will go over next four to six weeks.
While 116 shops will continue trading, 75 will shut over the next four to six weeks – in addition to the seven immediate closures confirmed two weeks ago.
The nearly 500 roles will be made redundant due to the shop closures, The Body Shops administrators said, and affected staff will receive support with claims to the government’s redundancy payments service.
The Body Shop had announced it entered administration and, as a result, was closing nearly half of its stores in the UK and cutting 40% of roles at its London headquarters.
The portfolio of nearly 200 shops was said to be “no longer viable” after “years of unprofitability”.

Only The Body Shop UK is impacted by the administration as global franchises trade as normal.
As part of the restructuring, there will be a “renewed focus” on products, online sales channels and wholesale, the administrators added.
“The UK business continues to trade in administration, and we remain fully focused on exploring all options to take the business forward.”
The administration came as The Body Shop faced “an extended period of financial challenges” under past owners which coincided with a difficult trading environment for retail in general, administrators said.
Next approached administrators about a potential purchase parts of the stricken cosmetics chain. It has become one of the most prolific buyers of distressed retail businesses in Britain in recent years.
The British-based chain was bought just three months ago by private equity firm Aurelius in a deal it said was valued at £207m.
It had been owned by L’Oreal between 2006 and 2017 before being sold to Brazilian cosmetics group Natura.
