One person has been critically injured after a shooting near a German primary school, according to police.
A police spokesperson said that the incident happened near the Martinusschule primary school, but was unrelated to the school.
The shooting occurred in the north-western town of Bramsche.
Both the gunman and the victim were taken to hospital by helicopter and are receiving medical treatment, a police spokesperson said, adding there was no longer any danger to the public.
German news outlet Bild reported that police arrested the gunman shortly after being informed of the incident at around 7.30am (6.30am GMT).
