Gary Neville will not be investigated further over potential contempt of court charges after a social post he published about Ryan Giggs delayed the trial.
The England defender turned pundit posted on social media shortly before his former Manchester United teammate’s domestic abuse trial was due to start in August.
Trial judge Hilary Manely was informed of the potentially prejudicial post and delayed proceedings by nearly an hour.
However, a spokesperson for the Attorney General confirmed no further action will be taken and the post in question has been taken down.
Contempt of court carries the penalty of a fine, up to two years in prison, or both.
Giggs was on trial having been accused of coercive control and domestic abuse.
The jury failed to reach a verdict and the former Wales international faces a retrial next July.
