England have released a picture of their World Cup squad as they prepare to travel to Qatar.

The photo of the 26 players and manager Gareth Southgate showed them decked out in clothing from the team’s official tailor Marks and Spencer.

A beaming Southgate can be seen sat in the middle of the group flanked by captain Harry Kane and veteran midfielder Jordan Henderson.

Along with the image, the squad numbers were also revealed as the group met up at St George’s Park in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, ahead of their flight to Doha on Tuesday.

Southgate has given the numbers one to 12 to the same players who wore them at Euro 2020, where they lost on penalties to Italy in the final at Wembley.

Jordan Pickford is once again in the number one jersey while captain Harry Kane keeps the number nine.

Kalvin Phillips, Conor Coady, Mason Mount and Phil Foden also wear numbers 14, 16, 19 and 20 respectively like they did for the European Championships last year.

Leicester’s James Maddison has been given the number 25 shirt, ending any lingering doubts over his fitness after he suffered an injury scare at the weekend during the Foxes’ 2-0 victory over West Ham.

The two other keepers, Nick Pope and Aaron Ramsdale wear numbers 13 and 23 respectively.

Bukayo Saka has been bumped up to number 17, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, who missed last year’s European Championships through injury, receiving the 18 shirt and Eric Dier, who failed to make the cut for the last tournament claiming 15.

Ben White takes 21, Jude Bellingham 22, Callum Wilson 24, and rounding out the squad at 26 is Conor Gallagher.

The Three Lions’ first game against Iran will kick off on 21 November.

Their second group game against the USA takes place on 25 November with the final clash of the group stage against Wales getting under way on 29 November.
