The search for missing Sarah Everard has entered its seventh day following the launch of a large-scale operation.

Last night, a serving Metropolitan Police officer was arrested at an address in Kent in connection with her disappearance.

She vanished while walking to her home to Brixton, south London, after meeting a friend in nearby Clapham. The journey should have taken her about 50 minutes.

Ms Everard, described as 5ft 4in (162cm) with a slim build and blonde hair, was wearing a green rain jacket, navy blue trousers with a white diamond pattern, and turquoise and orange trainers. She is thought to have been wearing green earphones and a white beanie hat too.

Her family have described her disappearance as being “totally out of character” and said her phone is not ringing and WhatsApp messages are not getting through.

Sarah Everard’s last known movements

The 33-year-old was last seen leaving a friend’s house on Leathwaite Road in Clapham, southwest London, at around 9pm on Wednesday 3 March.

The marketing executive spoke to her partner for about 15 minutes. The phone call ended at 9.28pm. She has not been heard from since.

Her last known location was near Clarence Avenue. She was walking to her home in Brixton, south London, from the Clapham Junction area.

Footage from a doorbell camera shows Ms Everard walking along the A205 Poynders Road at about 9.30pm.

It captures her walking alone from the junction at Cavendish Road, toward Tulse Hill, which lies south of Brixton.

The image appears to suggest she walked through Clapham Common and was heading towards her home, although police have said it is unclear if she made it there.

CCTV footage appeal

People who live or work along Ms Everard’s envisaged route home – including the following areas – have been asked by investigating officers to check any CCTV or dashcams they may have and to come forward with any information.

• Cavendish Road
• New Park Road
• Brixton Hill
• Brixton Water Lane

Other areas of focus

An extensive investigation, combining searches and house-to-house inquiries, is ongoing to find any further sightings of Ms Everard

A cordon was put in place on the A205, near the Poynders Court housing complex in the Clapham area, with forensics officers seen examining the area.

Two police officers with sniffer dogs were seen searching outside the nearby Oaklands Estate and gardens in surrounding streets.

Other officers were lifting covers and searching drains along the A205.

Teams of police and volunteers have also been searching Clapham Common.
