Five people were killed and others injured when a train derailed and overturned in Hungary after crashing into a truck.
Police say a flatbed truck carrying workers drove on to the train tracks in the town of Mindszent on Tuesday where it was struck by the train just before 7am.
The force of the crash caused the train to overturn and flip on to its side, coming to rest on the side of the tracks.
Seven men were reportedly travelling in the truck when it was hit by the train – five were killed and two others were taken to hospital with serious head and limb injuries, the police said.
In a statement, Hungarian state railways said that 22 people were on the train at the time of the collision. Two passengers were seriously hurt and eight others suffered mild injuries.
The Csongrad-Csanad county police said it had closed the entire road as the crash was investigated.
