Petrol prices have hit new records despite plummeting wholesale costs, the Automobile Association has said.
The average price of petrol was 167.03p a litre on Sunday, compared with 165.89p just before the start of the weekend.
Diesel now averages 178.97p a litre, up from 177.34p before the weekend.
The cost of wholesale petrol on Friday was down 12p a litre from its peak of 78.35p to 66.15p on 8 March.
