A man has been accused of murdering a woman in 2018, but who was only reported missing last week.
Diane Douglas from Colton, near Norwich, was reported missing by family members “who had lost contact with her for several years” on 21 October.
Norfolk Constabulary said the 58-year-old woman had not been seen for a “significant period” of time and declared the case a “no body” murder investigation.
The force has not released details of when she was last seen – or if it is even known.
On Monday, Stuart Williamson, also from Colton, was charged with murder after being arrested in Wales on Saturday night.
The 56-year-old, of Barford Road, is accused of killing Ms Douglas between 1 and 31 December 2018.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
A police cordon remains in place at a property in Barford Road, where searches will continue to take place.
