A schoolgirl is set to face trial on terror charges after allegedly being caught with a bomb-making video and instructions on building a home-made gun with a 3D printer.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be identified because of her age, denies five counts of possessing information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism on dates in August and September last year.

The girl, who is from Derbyshire, faces trial at Westminster Youth Court on 1 March in front of Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring.

She has been remanded into local authority accommodation.

One of the charges she faces relates to a bomb-making video.

She is also charged with offences related to digital documents named Improvised Munitions Handbook, Expedient Homemade Firearms, Kitchen Improvised Fertiliser Explosives and Making Plastic Explosives From Bleach.

The girl also denies a further charge of possessing an article in circumstances which give rise to a reasonable suspicion that it was for a purpose connected with the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism on 22 August last year.

The article is a zip file alleged to contain instructions on how to make a home-made firearm using a 3D printer.
