Police Scotland has pleaded guilty at the High Court in Edinburgh to failings which “materially contributed” to the death of a woman after officers failed to respond to an emergency call.
Lamara Bell, 25, died after a car crash on the M9 on 12 July 2015.
She remained alive in the vehicle for three days before police eventually attended the scene.
When officers arrived, driver John Yuill was found dead and Ms Bell was seriously injured. She died in hospital four days later, having suffered a brain injury, a broken limb and severe dehydration.
Police Scotland has admitted a charge under the Health and Safety Act.
