A 49-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a double murder in London.
Sharon Pickles and Clinton Ashmore were found fatally stabbed at two addresses in Westminster last week.
The suspect, who is understood to be Lee Peacock, was found on a canal barge in Ealing, west London, on Wednesday evening, suffering serious injuries.
He was taken to hospital, and was then into custody at a London police station on Friday.
On Thursday 19 August, officers from the Metropolitan Police were called to an address in Ashbridge Street at 9.30pm where Ms Pickles, 45, was found dead.
Just hours later, at 2.15am on Friday 20 August, officers then attended a second address in nearby Jerome Crescent where Mr Ashmore, 59, was pronounced dead.
Both had died from a stab wound to the neck.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “This is a significant development in our investigation which I hope takes us a step closer to getting justice for the families of Sharon and Clinton.”
