Porn star Ron Jeremy has pleaded not guilty to more than 30 counts of sexual assault.
Jeremy is facing the charges in Los Angeles, where he was indicted by a grand jury last week on claims which relate to 21 women aged between 15 and 51 over a 23-year period.
The charges include 12 allegations of rape, seven of forcible oral copulation, six of sexual battery and two of penetration while the victim was asleep or unconscious, the district attorney’s office has said.
Other charges include sodomy, assault with the intent to rape and committing sex acts on children.
The alleged offences were said to have taken place in night clubs and bars in Los Angeles, as well as during a photoshoot at the defendant’s home.
Jeremy has appeared in more than 2,000 porn films since the 1970s, and continues to be one of the most recognisable names in the industry.
He was first arrested a year ago on suspicion of raping three women, and has been in prison since while awaiting trial.
In that time, more victims came forward as a result of a lengthy investigation.
In an email to Reuters on Wednesday, Jeremy’s lawyer said he was “innocent of all charges”.
The investigation is ongoing.
