Former South Africa president Jacob Zuma has been jailed for 15 months for contempt of court after he failed to appear at a corruption inquiry earlier this year.
The inquiry is looking into allegations of high-level graft during Zuma’s time in office from 2009 and 2018.
Zuma denies wrongdoing and has so far not co-operated with the inquiry.
On Tuesday, a constitutional judge said: “Mr Jacob Gedleyihlekisa Zuma is sentenced to undergo 15 months’ imprisonment.”
The former presient has to appear before police within five days, the judge added.
