A widow is appealing for the return of two “very special” teddies that were accidentally donated to a charity shop in Orkney.
Toy rabbits Moppy Moppy and Ranger were gifted to Ruaridh Millar more than a decade ago by his father Archie, who died last year.
The teddies were taken in error to The Blue Door in Kirkwall last week and were then sold.
Mr Millar’s widow, Lesley-Anne Millar, told Sky News the bunnies had been put in a bag to be stored away but instead were accidentally taken to the charity shop.
The mistake was discovered on Tuesday, but by that time both of the teddies had been purchased.
Mrs Millar said: “Moppy Moppy was bought for Ruaridh when he was just weeks-old by his dad, who himself had a moppy – a rabbit teddy – when he was little.
“Ranger was also given to Ruaridh by his dad when he was a few months old. He was named Ranger as they are Rangers fans.

“Both bunnies had been kept by Ruaridh for 12 years as they are special to him.
“My husband died last year after a 15-month battle with gallbladder cancer, so the bunnies who were already special are even more special as his dad is no longer with us.
“Ruaridh’s face just fell when he realised that they were gone. He is devastated as they are so special to him.”

The team at the charity shop were unable to tell Mrs Millar if the teddies were sold together or separately.
The family is worried the rabbits are “on a boat somewhere” as Kirkwall is popular with visiting cruise liner passengers and crews.
‘Priceless to us’
Mrs Millar pleaded: “I understand they are cute bunnies, but they are full of memories and are priceless to us.
“So, if you were at The Blue Door last week and think you bought them, please consider returning them to us.
“You would make one devastated boy’s year and it would mean the world to us to have them back.”
